Vanities  have been evolving in form and color through the decades echoing the  styles of the moment. However, it seems like vanities are standalone  pieces of furniture designed with a very constant formula of mirror,  storage and seating at low heights and have become obsolete for today’s  needs.

Today we  are seeing less people investing in a piece of furniture whose sole  purpose is grooming. However, the need for storage space, a well lit  mirror and surface area to display products and practice grooming is  ever-present.

Bathroom  and bedroom grooming routines have different needs. This furniture  piece needs to make sure that grooming is an effortless and enjoyable  act. Regardless of gender, grooming is meant to boost one’s confidence;  it is an empowering strategy.

I  am proposing, a compact piece of furniture where the user can quickly  groom themselves standing up for their routine and can choose to sit  down whenever they have the time to perform the ritual. More than  function and aesthetics, this project emphasizes the importance of well  being, providing an object where the user can practice self-care  boosting their confidence and empowering them to carry on with their
day.

The  project aims to empower users and get their confidence up through the  self-care act of grooming by providing furniture that stores and  organizes their tools and products including ideal lighting, a mirror  and surface area to work in.
