Edge Chair is part of the Edge Collection designed for Brown Jordan, luxurious outdoor living. Experimenting with Thermally Modified Ash, this would be one of the few wooden collections of a brand that works primarily with metal.
TMT is domestically sourced, sustainably harvested wood that is kiln dried and then thermally modified to broaden its lifespan in outdoor environments similar to exotic hardwoods.
Taking into consideration the contrasting properties of both materials, the design integrates angles and curves to stimulate the senses. The curves are taken from the angled profile found in bent metal.The angles appear thanks to the possibility to cut a block of wood in different orientations. Every edge in this chair is a tactile and visual experience for the user.
